Breda, November 20th 2013 – The Dutch SK FireSafety Group (SK) has acquired the two British companies, Avia Technique and Meridian. With these acquisitions, SK has expanded the Business Unit Aviation to three companies. By doing so, SK has fortified its position in the Aviation sector.
Avia Technique is an Aerospace company with wide experience in the Repair/Overhaul and the Design and Manufacture of Aerospace systems and components. Avia specialises in the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) of Aviation Equipment including Oxygen, Hydraulics, Fire Extinguishers, Heat Exchangers and Fuel Equipment.
Meridian Technical Services are independent contractors to the fire and waste industry. Meridian provides a bespoke service to all major fire protection companies throughout the UK and worldwide. Especially the gathering, storage, disposal and refilling of Halon cylinders are included in Meridian’s services.
Responding even better to customer needs with complete fire protection program
Just as Hugen in the Netherlands, these two British companies will operate under Business Unit Manager Chris Wright. “A solid addition to the fine list of companies that already form SK. In strategic terms, this makes the group stronger and through knowledge and shared experience a ‘win-win’ situation will arise, according to Wright.
According to SK, Avia Technique and Meridian are an easy fit for the Aviation activities. The management believes that joining SK allows for further strengthening growth, improved capabilities and the ability to provide customers with even better service in the future.
